Who likes cupcakes?I do, I do!Who likes BIG cupcakes?I DO, I DO!I'm sure I speak for all the dessert lovers out there when I say that there is no better way to satisfy your sweet tooth than with a ginormous cupcake. When I heard that I was given the opportunity to review the Big Top Cupcake pan, I was beyond ecstatic. All of the possible frosting flavors and fillings came rushing through my mind and I couldn't help but feel a sense of giddiness knowing that I'll be having a cupcake that's 10 times the size of a normal cupcake in my possession. Can you imagine?So when the Big Top Cupcake arrived at my doorstep, you already know what kind of excitement I was feeling. As usual, I ripped open the shipping box, grab the packaging out, and start reading everything from cover to cover. I wasted no time taking it to the kitchen and putting it to use. My husband looked at me like I was crazy because I had this huge smile on my face I almost looked crazy. Yes, that's what baking equipment does to me. Is that weird?I decided to make an English toffee buttermilk cake with a sweet orange glaze to drizzle over it. The thought of it made my mouth water and that only got me to working faster. So, my ginormous cupcake adventure began....
With the pans lightly sprayed and the batter all ready to go, I finally popped them into the oven and waited (im)patiently for the results....

Doesn't it look yummy? The directions were so easy to follow and it came out just the way I wanted it to. A couple things that I did to make everything run as smoothly as I expected were to spray the pans very lightly with non-stick spray and level out the cakes when they were out of the oven and cooled. The directions mentioned this and I followed it to the letter....I'm glad I did because things worked out perfectly. The pans are very sturdy and can stand up to the heat without getting warped or damaged. The best part is, it's refrigerator, freezer, and dishwasher safe! So convenient.I have to say, I think I've found a new baking toy. There are so many possibilities with this pan and you're not limited to just making it look like a cupcake. As you can see above, I simply did a glaze drizzle to show hopefully show you how it looks when they come out of the oven. Next time, I'm thinking of doing a cute little bee hive. Oh the possibilities....I am absolutely ecstatic that I had the opportunity to try out The Big Top Cupcake. It fit so perfectly into my lifestyle that I couldn't be more happy about doing this review. And guess what? I use Facebook to connect with friends and family members, I'm reconnecting with lots of old high school classmates that I haven't seen since graduation. But can I tell you how strange it is to see pictures that my old high school friends post of their kids that are graduating from HIGH SCHOOL and COLLEGE or getting MARRIED................and here I am with a 4 YEAR OLD watching sprout and singing the wheels on the bus...seriously!! I'll just say I'm in my early 40's, enough said, but I don't feel like an older Mom, where I live now I have lots of Mom friends, some the same age as me, some younger, but we all have kids around the same age so it's never an issue, (we are all in misery together).
I don't regret my decision to be a Mom later in life, I've been able to do so many fun things because I waited but I am certainly not judging anyone for starting a family earlier in life. Everybody has to do what works best for them, but it is really strange to think that I could have a child that is graduating high school or college. Next summer is my 25th high school reunion, I want to go, I haven't been to one yet (I know shame on me) but I'm just wondering if everyone will be discussing what college their child got into or what major they are studying and I'll be like "oh yeah well my kid can read Go Dog Go and wipe herself".

Because of all the "stuff" that has gone on with my family this year . . . my garden is pitiful.  : )  So, I decided to try price matching at WALMART!  So far it has been working wonderfully!!  It couldn't be any easier.  : )


(NOTE: Make sure you pay attention to the Walmart prices! Sometimes they are cheaper than any of the grocery stores.)

Steps to a smooth transaction:
1. Tell the cashier up front that you will be price matching the fresh produce.
2. Lay out each ad that you will be using on the belt (with the advertised produce side facing up).
3. Place the produce on top of the corresponding ad.
4. Cashier picks up the produce and the ad to match at the same time.


Once again, I put together a spreadsheet listing all the fresh produce in the ads (the ones that I have - Giant Eagle, Shop 'n Save, Aldi, Foodland, Khun's, Save a Lot, and BiLo) this week. I've listed out all the prices for the produce so that you can easily see which store has that item advertised and where it is the cheapest. You can then either shop the store(s) of your choice or you can take your whole stack of ads to Walmart and have them price match the lowest advertised prices for all the items.
(NOTE: If you didn't recieve the above ads in the mail, just print off the add from the linked websites above and take that into Walmart. As long as the sale dates show up on the print out, Walmart will honor the ad. Also, make sure that you do not print any of the ads before they officially begin in the stores as most of the time the ads are not posted/updated on the stores' websites until the day the items go on sale in the store.)
